in the beginning...

i've known about crossfit for some time now. our good friend ryan was always talking about it and was working at cfo when we moved to oahu. you think i would've checked it out...no, i was lying on the beach stuffing my face with malasadas, shave ice, dole whips or whatever other crap i could find.

after having multitudes of visitors and having to play tour guide and take them to all the fun places...ie, wear a bathing suit and see pics of me in said bathing suit...holy shit, i had to do something.

i ride my bike to work but it's not that demanding of a ride...quite leisurely actually. going to the gym on my own was really not an option. going to 24 hour fitness and watching people hang on cardio machines and having to wait to use the cardio equipment was so frustrating.

i had been crusing the cfo website for some time, the biggest deterrent was cost. especially since 24 only charged me $25/month vs $75/month for the cheapest option at cfo. but really, i was only using 24 to take showers after my bike rides...expensive showers!

after some soul searching...err, i mean looking in the mirror...i finally had enough. on june 26th i went to the intro class. as everyone before me, i was intimidated and felt like an idiot. the into wod was tough but i figured it's now or never. luckily, elements was starting the next week so i signed up, paid and the rest is history!

i LOVED elements! met some great people and continue to work out with them. the camaraderie is like no other. doesn't matter if you are last, the cheers are still there.

i'm NOT a morning person but it's funny that i can pop right out of bed at 5am to go to crossfit. i'm definitely hooked and drinking the oh so delicious kool-aid.

along with crossfit comes paleo. we are kicking off a 60 day paleo challenge today! i'm excited to dial in on my nutrition and stop eating junk. i'm also excited to NOT be mortified when my touristas are snapping pics in said bathing suit :)

in it to win it!!!
